What this test can tell you
The page generates tones through the selected or system-default audio output. Compare Left, Right and Both to check the channel routing that you can hear.
No microphone measurement is made here. Missing or distorted sound can involve output selection, balance, mono settings, audio hardware or the listener; it does not identify one cause by itself.
How to use it
- Set your volume to a comfortable level.
- Press Left, then Right — each sound should come only from that side.
- Play the frequency sweep to hear the whole range from low to high.
- Use the bass test to check your subwoofer or low end.
What you should hear
Listen for consistent channel routing and repeat any unexpected silence, buzz or distortion at a comfortable level. Output hardware, settings, room acoustics and the listener can all affect the result. This page does not measure acoustic frequency response or establish one cause of a missing tone.
Not working? Try these fixes
No sound at all
Check the volume and mute switch, then make sure the right output device is selected in your system sound settings or in the device list here.
Left and right are swapped
Check that headphones are worn the right way round (L/R marks) and that speakers are connected to the correct outputs.
I cannot choose an output device
On-page output selection depends on browser support, permissions and which devices are exposed. If the selector is unavailable or incomplete, choose the intended output in your operating-system settings.
Frequently asked questions
Can this damage my speakers?
Start at low, comfortable volume and stop if you hear distortion or discomfort. The page cannot measure sound pressure or guarantee that an output device is being driven safely.
Does it work with Bluetooth headphones?
Yes. Bluetooth may add a short delay before the sound starts.
