About TestMyDevice

TestMyDevice is an independent collection of free browser tools for checking displays, input devices, cameras and audio. No account, software installation or upload is needed.

How the tools work

Keyboard and mouse pages display events the browser receives. Gamepad readings come from the Gamepad API. Microphone and camera tools use getUserMedia after you press Start and approve the browser prompt. Sound tools generate signals locally with Web Audio.

Refresh-rate and mouse-polling values estimate the events observable by the browser. They are affected by scheduling, power saving, display settings and browser limits. They are not laboratory hardware measurements. Controller drift warnings use a visible radial threshold of 0.10 (the distance sqrt(x*x + y*y) from center); held sticks also exceed it.

What a result means

A test can confirm that an input or output was observable during the test. It cannot prove that all hardware is fault-free or diagnose every operating-system issue. No tool here is a medical hearing test. Speaker tones do not guarantee cleaning, repair or dryness.

The core tests have localized text and controls. Translations start from machine-assisted drafts with reviewed tool names and technical terms. Browser-provided device names and key labels may use your operating system’s language.
