Privacy

Updated 26 October 2026. TestMyDevice is operated by Appsplosion GbR; see the operator and contact details. There is no account system, upload endpoint or application backend.

Camera and microphone

The relevant tool requests access only after you press Start. Audio and video are processed inside your browser. An optional microphone recording is held in temporary browser memory for local playback. A camera snapshot is downloaded to your own device. Neither is sent to us or to Analytics.

Stop, navigation away or hiding the page releases camera and microphone tracks. You can also revoke permissions using your browser’s site controls. Your browser and operating system may remember the permission you granted.

Keyboard, mouse and controller data

Events and test results are displayed locally and are not transmitted. Do not type private information into a test. The keyboard tool cannot see keys consumed by the operating system or other apps.

Local storage

Keyboard format, click-test best scores, ruler calibration and a sound-level reference offset may be stored in localStorage on this device. Clear this site’s browser data to remove saved settings. Tests still work when storage is unavailable.

Google consent choices

Google’s Consent Management Platform provides the consent dialog for visitors in the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland. You can consent, refuse or manage the purposes and partners in Google’s dialog. The “Analytics choices” footer control reopens Google’s dialog where it applies. Refusing does not disable any device test.

The Google AdSense tag loads the consent service, so requests to Google are needed to deliver the dialog before an Analytics decision. Google stores your consent record using its own cookies, including FCCDCF, and may use other storage needed to deliver and remember the message. Google’s dialog describes the purposes, partners and storage duration. See Google’s privacy policy.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand page visits and referral sources. Where the consent dialog applies, the Analytics tag stays blocked until Google reports consent for analytics storage. Unknown, refused or unconfigured consent does not load Analytics. Google may report that this consent requirement does not apply outside the dialog’s regions; Analytics can load in that case. Reopening the dialog stops collection while you review your choices. Refusing then blocks further collection and removes this site’s Analytics cookies.

When enabled, Google receives page paths, referrer information, browser/device information and connection data needed to process the request. We do not send URL query strings, microphone audio, camera images, typed keys, device identifiers from the tests or their results. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in this site’s Analytics configuration. Analytics may use _ga cookies to recognize returning browsers. Google operates internationally and processing may occur outside your country; see Analytics data practices.

Advertising review

The site has been submitted to Google AdSense for review. Its tag delivers Google’s consent message, but Auto ads are switched off for this domain and no ad units are installed. This launch displays no ads. If advertising is enabled later, this notice will be updated to reflect the actual setup.

Hosting

Requesting a page sends Cloudflare technical request data such as IP address, user agent and requested URL to deliver and protect the site. This is separate from test data. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.

Translation and external links

Translations are stored in the static site files. Visiting a translated page does not call a translation service. External reference links contact their respective websites only when you follow them.
